Day: 01 Arriving into Kathmandu
Namaste and welcome to Nepal, You'll be met and assisted at the airport by our local representatives who will arrange your transfer and check in to your hotel.
Day: 02 Kathmandu and Valley
In the morning we explore Kathmandu on an organized sightseeing tour visiting Bodhnath Stupa & Swoyam,bhu Nath Stupa. Here we may observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the Stupa. where we can visit the surrounding monasteries and perhaps watch the monks as they chant their daily mantras. In addition, we visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here we will see Hindu holymen (or Sadhus), pilgrims bathing and, occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the ghats. In the evening, you will be supplied with your trek packs and final departure details for tomorrow.
Day: 03 Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840m/9,317ft), trek to Phakding 2640m.
We take a spectacular 50 minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu. The flight is bound to be one of the most exhilarating you will ever take. Much of it is only a few thousand feet above ground and the views of the terraced landscape and river valleys below, as well as the closeness of some of the world’s highest mountains make it a truly memorable experience. And after a hearty second breakfast, trek to Phakding, a couple of hours walk. Situated on the banks of the Dudh Kosi, which drains the whole of the Khumbu region, this small hamlet is on the main trade route through the area and there are a number of clean, well-built lodges where we can spend the night
Day: 04 Fakding To Namche Bazar. O/N Namche Bazar. (3446m) 5 hrs
We will continue up the banks of the Dudh Kosi, crossing it twice by small suspension bridges before reaching the village of Monjo where we will enter the Khumbu National Park. We will then cross the confluence of the Dudh Kosi and the Bhote Kosi on a high suspension bridge and climb steeply for about two hours to reach Namche Bazaar. This is a prosperous trading town and the capital of the Khumbu region. Many Tibetans cross the nearby border to trade their wares and the local market is a fascinating spectacle. This is a good place to buy genuine Tibetan artefacts. Just across the valley
to the east stand the peaks of Thamserku and Kangtega, both very impressive mountains.
Day: 05 Explore Days. O/N Namche Bazar
Suggested activities include a short walk uphill to a magnificent spot with spectacular views of the surrounding snow-capped giants and the valleys below. There is also an interesting museum nearby which presents the history of the Himalayas.
Day:06 Namche To Tengboche. O/N Tengboche. (3867m) 3 to 4hrToday your 5hr trek offers great views of Mt. Everest and its sister peaks. You may see the beautifully coloured Danphe pheasant (national bird of Nepal,) the elusive musk deer, or even a herd of Himalayan Thar (mountain goat). From Shanasa, the trail descends to a small settlement (3250m), in the midst of alpine woods (mostly silver fir and blue pines.) Your destination - Thyangboche is one of the most beautiful places in the Himalayas.
Day: 07 Tangboche To Dingboche. O/N Dinboche. (3797m) 4 to 5 hr
5-6hrs of trekking today, the trail descends through a forest of birch, fir, juniper and air. On reaching the foot of Mt Everest, a great view of the Khumbu icefall awaits you. After a celebration you will retrace your steps to Italian Camp near Loboche. The roundtrip takes about 8 hours.
Day:08 Dingbuche To Chhukung. O/N Chhukung. (4000m ) 5hr
From Dingboche you will head east towards the very head of the Imja Khola valley to bring you to the few scattered stone huts (some operating as tea-houses in the high season) at Chukhung. To the south is a superb close view of Ama Dablam and to the north the massive walls of the Nuptse ridge and the south face of Lhotse. Overnight lodge. A Christmas party will be arranged for clients on the December departure.
Day: 09 Rest Days. O/N Chhukung.
Day : 10 Trek back Chhukung To Dingbuche. O/N Dingbuche. (3797m) 4 to 5hr
Day:11 Dingbuche Totangboche . O/N Tangboche. (3867m) 4 hr
Following the main Everest trail down the beautifully scenic valley, we pass through Pangboche and re-cross the river before climbing to the famous monastery at Thyangboche. It now has a brand new monastery, the largest in the area, as the old one was destroyed by fire a few years ago. Built in the traditional style, with its gleaming copper roofs, it is as grand as ever.
Day12: Tangboche To Namche Bazar.O/N Namche Bazar. (3446m) 4 to 5hr
A steep descent of around 1500ft/500m leads through bird filled rhododendron bushes and fir trees to the Dudh Kosi River. Crossing this on yet another suspension bridge, we climb up the opposite side of the valley to reach the contouring path leading back to Namche Bazaar. Namche is the perfect place to enjoy some well-deserved celebrations!
Day13: Namche Bazar to Lukla. O/N Lukla (3827m) 5 to 6hr
A steep descent for 600m/2,000ft leads to the suspension bridge crossing the Dudh Kosi river. We cross the river twice more before a rising traverse up the hill-side, past numerous tea-houses to Lukla.
Day 17: Lukla- Kathmandu.
An early morning flight takes us back to Kathmandu, and gives us a last view of the mountains we have just spent two weeks exploring.
Day 18 At Leisure in Kathmandu. O/N Kathmandu Hotel.
An opportunity to relax and reflect on your adventures and to complete any sightseeing and last minute shopping. We will also organize an optional flight over Mt. Everest ($130 US) or an optional biking trip around the Kathmandu Valley. Later this evening we'll all meet up for a group farewell Nepali food with typical dance.
Day 19: Departure with warm Good Bye.
Today is free to relax until departure or to commence any additional trips or activities you may have booked. If departing, you will transferred to the International Airport in time for your return flight home. |
